Hi everyone, Pansy Kemp here with RE/MAX Integrity in downtown Corvallis. I am so excited, it is Monday, June 1st and I am back in the office! Phase 1 seems to be going very well for most businesses and we are so excited to be back here in our brand-new facility in downtown Corvallis.
It’s been many, many weeks since I’ve been here in the office, and I know, like many of you, you’ve been working from home and hopefully that’s been going ok. I know there’s going to be some new perspectives on what that means for people going forward.
So excited, again, to be back here in the office and helping you buy and sell homes. I’m getting a lot of questions, as most real estate agents are these days, on what’s happening with the market? So, it feels pertinent to share with you today, some of the statistics that we’ve been seeing and the numbers that are coming out of the market.
In the month of May, in the Willamette Valley, we had a total of 1,255 homes be listed on the market for sale. Of those, in the month of May, we sold and had close successfully, 670 homes. So, a lot of action. We are seeing the numbers continue to climb and just last week we had 333 new listings, new homes come onto the market for sale.
That being said, it is still a challenge in the Willamette Valley for a lack of inventory. We are definitely still facing the challenge of a supply and demand problem. If you have been waiting to put your home on the market to sell and move onto something new and exciting for you and your loved ones, it’s time. Because of the lack of inventory our Buyers that are in the market, those numbers of Buyers are continuing to increase as we get back to our new normal. That’s resulting in aggressive Buyers, they are fighting for the homes that are on the market and we are seeing many Sellers that are getting multiple offers on their home. So, please don’t delay any longer and touch base with me, I would love to get together.
If you are still really keeping yourself safely tucked away at home, until you feel it’s the appropriate time for you, I am happy to do a virtual meeting with you and take step one there. We’ve got lots of safety protocol in place for having people come into your home. You, as the Seller, are completely in control of who’s coming into the home and the safety protocol that you would like to have in place. We’ve got lots of steps that we’ve taken ahead of time to help you make the right decision for you and your family.
So, my message to all of you today is whether you are a Buyer or a Seller, it’s a fantastic time to be getting out there in the market. We are anticipating going forward, that these numbers are going to increase as far as the number of listings and the number of Buyers. The longer you delay, the more hectic that we anticipate the market is going to become. So, it’s a great time to get a jump on everyone else who’s still holding off. That being said, if we can get you under contract and moving into your home sooner, then you’re going to get to enjoy your new property for longer over the beautiful summer months.
